			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>(Watertown, NY - June 26, 2010) The State Police in Watertown arrested Kevin C. Cean, 30,  of 5200 Route 11 in Adams on 1 count of Menacing 2nd a Class A Misdemeanor.</p>
<p>Cean fired two rounds from a .22 caliber rifle in a safe direction and was still holding it while engaged in a verbal dispute on Route 11 in the town of Ellisburg on May 29 at about 10:30 p.m.</p>
<p>The victims, Michael S. Thompson, 35, of Ellisburg and Dwayne C. Engle, 46, of Pulaski were not injured and did not know the suspect.</p>
<p>Cean was issued an appearance ticket to return June 30 at 3 p.m. in the town of Ellisburg Court and released.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>(Watertown, NY - June 23, 2010) State Police in Watertown arrested 33-year-old Frank Lavancha for one count of Grand Larceny 4th and one count of Petit Larceny.</p>
<p>Arrest subsequent to investigation that found that Lavancha stole a 2000 GMC Denali from a residence located on Route 177 in the Town of Adams on June 5, 2010.</p>
<p>The vehicle was recovered in City of Syracuse.</p>
<p>The investigation also found that he entered a second vehicle on Route 177 and stole a IPOD from within.</p>
<p>Lavancha was arraigned and $1,000 bail was put on him. He was remanded back to the Jefferson County Jail where he is lodged on other charges.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>(Adams, NY - February 9, 2010) New York State Police in Watertown, NY arrested <strong>Johathan C. Truxell</strong> (10/13/82), 15 West Church St., Adams, NY for Assault 3rd degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.</p>
<p>Jefferson County Child Protective Services received a Child Abuse Hot line referral regarding the child&#8217;s injuries.</p>
<p>Truxell is alleged to have fractured his 8 month old daughter&#8217;s leg after becoming frustrated with her crying at his residence in the Village of Adams.  The child was initially seen by medical staff at Samaritan Medical Center on 02/08/10, but was sent to University Hospital in Syracuse due to her injury. The child is listed in stable condition.</p>
<p>Truxell was arraigned before Town of Lorraine Justice Sheldon and remanded to the Jefferson County Public Safety Building in lieu of $1,500, pending court adjudication.</p>

<div>(Adams, NY - November 06, 2009)</div>
<div>The New York State Police and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Police are investigating a Hunting Incident in the Town of Adams, Jefferson County.</div>
<div>The incident occurred between the CSX railroad and Interstate 81 approximately 1 1/2 miles south of SR-177 at about 6:30 AM.  Investigation revealed that Joseph A. Tufo (45 yoa), 420 Barben Ave, Watertown, NY was shot by his hunting partner, Luke T. Netto (43 yoa), 22388 Duffy Rd, Watertown, NY with a .270 caliber rifle.  Mr. Tufo suffered injuries to his neck and shoulder from the gun shot.</div>
<div>Mr. Tufo was transported to University Hospital in Syracuse, NY by South Jefferson Rescue Squad where his is being treated and listed in stable condition.</div>
<div>This investigation is ongoing with no further information to be released until completion.</div>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>(Adams, NY - October 31, 2009) &#8211; The New York State Police in Watertown are investigating a Fatal Motor Vehicle collision that occurred at approximately 3:35 AM today.</p>
<p>David G. Towles (12/20/87), 16639 Lemay Rd, Adams, NY was operating his 1996 Toyota Camry southerly on Fuller Road in the Town of Adams.  For an unknown reason, Mr. Towles failed to keep right and left the east of Fuller Road, striking a tree head on.  Mr. Towles was transported to Samaritan Medical Center by South Jeff Rescue where he was pronounced deceased.  Mr. Towles was the sole occupant of the vehicle.  Adams fire department was also on the scene.  This investigation is ongoing.</p>

Wratten, age 34, 8977 US Rte 11, Adams, NY on Oct. 31 for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, Aggravated Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Second Degree, and Speeding Friday morning.</p>
<p>Wratten was observed operating a motor vehicle northbound on I-81 in the Town of Watertown at 86 MPH in the posted 65 MPH zone.  Subsequent investigation revealed he had 9 current suspensions on his Driver&#8217;s License and possessed a marihuana pipe and a baggie containing less than 25 grams of Marihuana.</p>
<p>He was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Watertown court on 11/19/09.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The New York State Police in Watertown with the assistance of the Village of Brownville Police Department arrested Brian J. Gunn (05/26/77), 237 East Main St, Brownville, NY.</p>
<p>Mr. Gunn is alleged to have unlawfully entered the residence of Tyler A. Thorigal at 235 East Main St, Brownville, NY on 10/07/09 at about 12:15 AM. </p>
<p>Once inside the Thorigal residence, Mr. Gunn punched Mr. Thorigal and Andrew T. Thorigal several times in the presence of a 7 year old child.  Mr. Gunn later sent several threatening text messages to Andrew Thorigal.</p>
<p>Mr. Gunn was approached by Officer Larry Jobson, Village of Brownville Police Department, at about 3:35 PM, while investigating a Trespass complaint. While Officer Jobson was interviewing Mr. Gunn he became enraged and threatened to turn his pit bull dog loose on Officer Jobson. </p>
<p>Mr. Gunn was charged with Burglary 2nd degree (C felony), Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A misdemeanor), Aggravated Harassment 2nd degree (A misdemeanor), and 3 counts of Harassment 2nd degree (violations). </p>
<p>He was arraigned in the Town of Adams court before Judge Shaw and remanded to the Jefferson County Public Safety Building in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.</p>
