Bad Check Arrest in the Town of Alexandria

(Alexandria Bay, NY) The New York State Police in Alexandria Bay arrested LORRAINE F. RUBADUE, age 82, for one count of Issuing a Bad Check.

On 11/16/09, Ms. RUBADUE uttered a check to the CROSSROAD’s GROCERY STORE in Redwood, NY for $21.00 on an account with insufficient funds.

Ms. RUBADUE was issued a criminal summons returnable to the Town of Alexandria Court on 05/25/10.

Police charge Theresa man with DWI

(Alexandria, NY – April 30, 2010) On 04/30/10 at 11:24 p.m., stemming from a vehicle stop on County Route 15 in the Town of Alexandria, Mark W. Tillman, 51, of 25403 Schneider Road, Theresa was arrested by the State Police Alexandria Bay for DWI.

Tillman was found to have a BAC of .14%. He was also issued traffic tickets for failing to keep right, unregistered and uninspected Motor Vehicle.

Tillman is to appear in the Town of Alexandria Court on 05/11/10 at 8:00 p.m. to answer charges.

DWI arrest in the Town of Alexandria

(Alexandria Bay, NY) The New York State Police in Alexandria Bay arrested HOWARD L. BAIN, age 51, 46193 Log Hill Road, Alexandria Bay, NY for Driving While Intoxicated.

On 03/11/10, at approximately 2:32 AM, BAIN was stopped on the Number 6 Road in the Town of Alexandria for operating a vehicle with a head light out. The subsequent investigation revealed Mr. BAIN was intoxicated.

He was arrested and found to have a BAC of 0.14 %. He was issued tickets for Driving While Intoxicated and a head light violation and released to reappear in the Town of Alexandria court on 03/23/10.

State Police apprehend Quebec man who crosses St. Lawrence in a canoe

(Alexandria, NY – Feb. 09, 2010) Trooper John J. Poggi III was assigned to the Northern Border Security Detail. Poggi stopped a Quebec plated vehicle on SR-12 in the Town of Alexandria for having a loud exhaust, following too closely and having a covered license plate.

During the traffic stop the driver was identified as Alain Dagenais, age 48, of Gatineau, Quebec. The front seat passenger was identified as Francois A. Michaud, age 43, also of Gatineau, Quebec.

Interview with both subjects disclosed that Dagenais had entered the US legally via the Ogdensburg (Port of Entry) POE. Interview with Michaud disclosed that he had not entered the US legally and that he had crossed the St. Lawrence River under cover of darkness somewhere near Ogdensburg by canoe. Interview also disclosed that Dagenais had picked Michaud up in his vehicle after he crossed the River at an unknown location somewhere near the City of Ogdensburg.

Located in the vehicle was a wet suit belonging to Michaud. Both subjects were turned over to Federal ICE agents of the Alex Bay POE for Federal Prosecution.

Crack cocaine and marihuana arrests in the Town of Alexandria

(Town of Alexandria, NY – January 17, 2010) The New York State Police in Alexandria Bay arrested Jaiden E. Paine, age 16, of 516 Arsenal Street, Watertown, NY for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd degree, and Anthony J. Peterkin, age 46, 17481 Northland Estates, Watertown, NY for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.

Paine and Peterkin were passengers in a vehicle that was stopped for having Inadequate brake lamps on State Route 37 in the Town of Alexandria this on January 16, 2010 at approximately 1:09 AM.

Paine was found to possess 12 grams of crack/cocaine and Peterkin was found to possess 1.3 grams of Marihuana. Peterkin was also wanted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department on an arrest warrant for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree.

Peterkin was issued an appearance ticket returnable in the Town of Alexandria Court on 01/26/10 and turned over to the Sheriff’s Department.

Paine was processed and arraigned in the Town of Watertown court and remanded to the Jefferson County Public Safety Building on $20,000 Cash or $40,000 Secured Bond.

State Police were assisted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and the Clayton Police Department and their K-9 Cosmo.

Arrest Made in Theft of Town of Alexandria Supervisor’s Campaign Signs

The New York State Police in Alexandria Bay arrested Thomas L. Eggleston, age 45, Theresa, for Three (3) counts of Petit Larceny, a Class A Misdemeanor. The arrest took place this morning.

The arrest stems from a complaint filed 10/30/09 by Town of Alexandria Supervisor Martha M. Millett, who reported she has had about 15 campaign signs stolen over the last few days. The Investigation revealed Mr. Eggleston as a suspect and he admitted to taking three signs that were located on Church Street, in the Village of Alexandria Bay.

He was issued an Appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Alexandria Court on 11/03/09, and released.

The Investigation is continuing.

Criminal Possession of Weapon Arrest at Thousand Island Port of Entry

The New York State Police Alexandria Bay arrested Thomas G. Moore, age 55, Deposit, NY for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, on Friday, 10/30/09.

Mr. Moore stopped at the Customs and Border Protection office at the Thousand Islands Port of Entry to register his rifle before entering Canada. A routine check revealed he had a prior felony conviction from December 15, 1982, which prohibited him from possessing a firearm. US Customs and Border Protection Officers turned him over to the New York State Police.

He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Orleans Court on 11/19/09, and released.

Bad Check Arrest in the Town of Alexandria

October 20th, the New York State Police in Alexandria Bay arrested Eduardo Delgado for three (3) counts of Issuing a Bad Check – a class B Misdemeanor.

Mr. Delgado is accused of uttering three (3) checks on a closed account to the Crossroads Grocery & Deli on State Route 37, Redwood, NY; 08/22/09 for $61.20, 08/22/09 for $36.34, and 08/24/09 for $71.34.

Mr. Delgado was processed at SP Alexandria Bay and issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to the Town of Alexandria court on 10/20/09.

Unlawful Possession of Marihuana

The New York State Police in Alexandria Bay arrested Brent C. Davis, age 24, 529 Jefferson Street, Watertown, NY for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana on October 4th, 2009 at approximately 10:30 AM.

Mr. Davis was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped on NYS Rte 37 in the Town of Alexandria for a violation of the Vehicle and Traffic Law. A subsequent K-9 free air sniff was conducted and resulted in a positive K-9 alert. A marihuana pipe with residue was located in the vehicle and claimed by Mr. Davis. Mr. Davis was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Alexandria Court on 10/20/09.

Two Unlawful Possession of Marihuana Arrests

The New York State Police in Alexandria Bay arrested two subjects for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana on September 21st, 2009 following two separate traffic stops.

Timothy M. Black, age 21, of Carnegie, PA, was arrested on US RT-11, in the Village of Philadelphia, after he was stopped because his front seat passenger was not wearing her seatbelt. Mr. Black was found to possess 21 grams of marihuana, 2 marihuana pipes, and 2 water bongs. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Village of Philadelphia Court on 09/23/09.

Samuel J. Squadrito, age 22, of Syracuse, NY, was arrested on ST-37, in the Town of Alexandria, after he was stopped for Following too closely. Mr. Squardrito was found to possess 1 gram of marihuana and a pipe with marihuana residue. He was issued appearance tickets for Following too closely and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana returnable to the Town of Alexandria court on 09/29/09.
