Lafargeville teen faces charges following a domestic dispute

(Lafargeville, NY – June 22, 2010) A 16-year-old Amend Road, Lafargeville teen faces charges of Menacing 3rd, Criminal Tampering 3rd and Torturing or Injuring an Animal.

The Defendant had a domestic dispute with his mother Ivy Sanford-Wiencek, which resulted in Defendant kicking and punching two dogs at the residence, taking apart a tire on his mothers vehicle, then raising a tire iron in the air threatening to kill her.

He was arraigned at the town of Orleans Court and is scheduled to return on July 15 at 7 p.m.

Man arrested for possessing marijuana at the Thousand Islands Border

(Alexandria Bay, NY – Feb. 5, 2010) At approximately 8:30 PM, the New York State Police at Alexandria Bay arrested DANIEL B. BRUNSON, age 53, Owego, NY for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.

While attempting to enter the United States at the Thousand Islands Port of Entry, and during a routine secondary inspection by US Customs and Border Protection officers, Brunson was found possessing 6.7 grams of Marihuana.

He was turned over to the New York State Police, who issued him an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Orleans Court on 02/23/10.

Petit Larceny Arrest in the Town of Orleans

(Jan. 21, 2010) The New York State Police in Alexandria Bay arrested FRANK W. JONES, age 45, of 22963 Hax Road, LaFargeville, NY for Petit Larceny this morning.

Jones was arrested after his neighbor, George E. Middleton Jr., age 36, 22635 Hax Road, LaFargeville, NY – reported to State Police that between 01/19/10 and this morning, someone had damaged his satellite dish and stolen approximately 100 gallons of kerosene from a tank outside his residence. The responding Trooper noted tire tracks from a four wheeler and a trailer leading from the kerosene tank to Jones’ property.

Jones was found in possession of a four wheeler with a trailer containing six five gallon cans of kerosene.

Jones admitted to the larceny of the kerosene, but denied damaging the satellite dish.

Jones was arrested for Petit Larceny, issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Orleans Court on 02/02/10, and released.

The criminal mischief to the satellite dish is still under investigation.

State Police in Watertown Arrest Man for Sexual Abuse

The State Police in Watertown arrested Wade P. Ingalls, Lafargeville, NY, on 1 count of Sexual Abuse 3rd a Class B Misdemeanor and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child a Class A Misdemeanor.

Ingalls is accused of subjecting a 16 year old female to sexual contact on separate occasions.

The incidents occurred from June 2009 thru December 2009. Ingalls was issued an appearance ticket to appear at Town of Orleans court.

DWI arrest in the Town of Orleans

(Town of Orleans, NY) The New York State Police Orleans Interstate Patrol arrested Jan T. Zielinski, age 50, Gananoque, Ontario, Canada for DWI, Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation – 1st degree, and Failure to Keep Right.

On 01/08/10, at approximately 2:09 PM, Zielinski was north bound on I-81 in the Town of Orleans, attempting to pass another vehicle, and lost control of his vehicle and slid into the median. Subsequent investigation revealed that he was intoxicated and had a suspension in New York for a pending prosecution of another DWI arrest.

He was processed at SP Alexandria Bay with a Blood alcohol content of 0.16 percent and arraigned in the Town of Clayton court. He was committed to the Jefferson County PSB in lieu of $1000.00 bail.

Marihuana arrest at the Thousand Islands Port of Entry

(Alexandria Bay – Jan. 1, 2010) The New York State Police at Alexandria Bay arrested Jordan Krusch, age 22, Kirkland, Quebec for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana today at approximately 9:50 AM.

Mr. Krusch was trying to enter the United States at the Thousand Islands Port of Entry and during a routine secondary inspection by US Customs and Border Protection Officers was found to possess approximately 3.3 grams of marihuana.

Mr. Krusch was then turned over to Troopers, who arraigned him in the Town of Orleans Court, where he was ROR’d to reappear on 02/28/10.

Lafargeville man arrested for Issuing a Bad Check

(Larfargeville, NY – December 09, 2009) Terry L. Alguire, age 39, Middle Rd. Lafargeville was arrested for Issuing a Bad Check at the Town of Orleans Office for a hunting license on 10/26/09 in the amount of $81. Alguire was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Orleans court on 12/15/09 at 7:00pm.

UPM Arrest at the Thousand Islands Port of Entry

On 11/23/09 at approximately 8:30 PM, the New York State Police arrested Ian M. McCray, 25, of East Syracuse, NY for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

US Customs and Border Protection Officers found Mr. McCray in possession of approximately 4 grams of Marijuana, when he attempted to enter the US from Canada.

He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Orleans court on 12/08/09 and released.

Speeding violation leads to Unlawful Possession of Marihuana arrest

(Adams, NY) The New York State Police Orleans Interstate Patrol arrested Gerald A. Wratten, age 34, 8977 US Rte 11, Adams, NY on Oct. 31 for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, Aggravated Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Second Degree, and Speeding Friday morning.

Wratten was observed operating a motor vehicle northbound on I-81 in the Town of Watertown at 86 MPH in the posted 65 MPH zone. Subsequent investigation revealed he had 9 current suspensions on his Driver’s License and possessed a marihuana pipe and a baggie containing less than 25 grams of Marihuana.

He was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Watertown court on 11/19/09.

Father and Son Killed in Motor Vehicle Accident in the Town of Orleans

The New York State Police in Alexandria Bay are investigating a double fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on the Middle Road in the Town of Orleans at approximately 5:20 PM.

Joel P. Getman, age 68, of County Route 3, LaFargeville, NY and his son, Duane J. Getman, age 46, Las Vegas, NV were both killed after being ejected from their vehicle. They were Northbound on Middle Road, when the vehicle exited the roadway into the ditch. The vehicle then rolled numerous times, striking a telephone poll and small trees. Neither man was wearing a seatbelt.

The investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause of the accident and to determine which man was driving. Anyone with any information regarding this accident is asked to contact the State Police at 315 482-5011.

State Police were assisted at the scene by the LaFargeville Volunteer Fire Department and TIERS Ambulance.
