<p><strong>(Herkimer, NY</strong>) Herkimer County Community College announces the candidates for the College’s 42<sup>nd</sup> annual commencement, which was held Friday, May 21 in the gymnasium of the Physical Education Building. There are 603 candidates for the associate degree and 41 candidates for certificates. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>(Philadelphia, NY &#8211; March 27, 2010) The State Police in Philadelphia, New York are investigating a two car personal injury accident that occurred on State Route 11 in the Town of Philadelphia at approximately 5:45 pm.</p>
<p>Cory Haynes, 31, of St. Regis Falls, NY was driving his 2007 Saturn northbound on St-11 when a 1999 Pontiac driven southbound by 20 year old Justin Peterson of Stapleton, Neb. crossed the center line and struck him head on.</p>
<p>Peterson was extricated from his vehicle with the Jaws of Life and airlifted by Fort Drum helicopter to Syracuse hospital.</p>
<p>The occupants of the Haynes vehicle were transported to Samaritan Medical Center where they were treated and released.</p>
<p>The investigation is on-going.</p>

<p>Fisher contacted Rhonda L. Ruperd via a text message.</p>
<p>In October 2009 Fisher was told to stop all contact with Ruperd stemming from a similar incident.</p>
<p>Fisher was arraigned in the Town of Cape Vincent Court and released on his recognizance.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>(Theresa, NY &#8211; December 08, 2009) On Dec. 8 at 5:40 p.m., Jefferson County 911 received a cell phone call from Floyd J. Frye reporting that he was lost in the Coyote Flats State Forest area in Theresa after muzzle loader hunting earlier in the day.</p>
<p>Responding were the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and the New York State Police, along with state forest rangers and the Theresa Volunteer Fire Department.</p>
<p>Audible attempts to locate Frye resulted in negative results. Contact with Frye’s cell phone was lost and division aviation was contacted for assistance.</p>
<p>Almost immediately upon arrival and approximately one mile from his vehicle, ground personnel were directed by division aviation to Frye’s location and escorted him out.</p>
<p>Philadelphia Ambulance was on the scene and treated Frye for hypothermia due to exposure. He was transported to Samaritan Medical Center for further examination.</p>

<div>The New York State Police at Alexandria Bay arrested Jeffrey D. Ward, age 37, of County Route 27, Lisbon, NY today for Speeding and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.</div>
<div>Mr. Ward was observed speeding at 45 MPH in a Posted 30 MPH Speed Zone on US Route 11 in the Village of Philadelphia.  Upon being stopped, a marihuana pipe was observed in plain view, and a subsequent search disclosed less than 25 grams of marihuana secreted in a cigarette box in the center console.</div>
<div>Mr. Ward was issued tickets for Speeding and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana returnable to the Village of Philadelphia Court on 10/28/09.</div>

<div>The New York State Police in Alexandria Bay arrested two subjects for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana on September 21st, 2009 following two separate traffic stops.</div>
<div>Timothy M. Black, age 21, of Carnegie, PA, was arrested on US RT-11, in the Village of Philadelphia, after he was stopped because his front seat passenger was not wearing her seatbelt.  Mr. Black was found to possess 21 grams of marihuana, 2 marihuana pipes, and 2 water bongs.  He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Village of Philadelphia Court on 09/23/09.</div>
<div>Samuel J. Squadrito, age 22, of Syracuse, NY, was arrested on ST-37, in the Town of Alexandria, after he was stopped for Following too closely.  Mr. Squardrito was found to possess 1 gram of marihuana and a pipe with marihuana residue.  He was issued appearance tickets for Following too closely and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana returnable to the Town of Alexandria court on 09/29/09.</div>

<p>State Police in Alexandria Bay along with the State Liquor Authority conducted checks at two establishments on Friday night, September 04, 2009.   </p>
<p>Mike’s Tavern in Antwerp, NY was checked for underage drinking and other violations of the State Alcohol Beverage Control Law. Two people were arrested for possession of cocaine. They are, Robert P. Lacerte, age 23 of Philadelphia, NY, and Frank G. Pickert Jr., age 31 of Antwerp, NY. </p>
<p>Both subjects were issued appearance tickets returnable in the Village of Antwerp.</p>
<p>Mike’s Tavern violations are pending State Liquor Authority investigation. </p>
<p>Another establishment checked was The Last Call in Evans Mills, NY where no violations were noted.</p>
