Hunting Incident in the Town of Adams, Jefferson County thumbnail

(Adams, NY - November 06, 2009)
The New York State Police and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Police are investigating a Hunting Incident in the Town of Adams, Jefferson County.
The incident occurred between the CSX railroad and Interstate 81 approximately 1 1/2 miles south of SR-177 at about 6:30 AM.  Investigation revealed that Joseph A. Tufo (45 yoa), 420 Barben Ave, Watertown, NY was shot by his hunting partner, Luke T. Netto (43 yoa), 22388 Duffy Rd, Watertown, NY with a .270 caliber rifle.  Mr. Tufo suffered injuries to his neck and shoulder from the gun shot.
Mr. Tufo was transported to University Hospital in Syracuse, NY by South Jefferson Rescue Squad where his is being treated and listed in stable condition.
This investigation is ongoing with no further information to be released until completion.
