(Watertown, NY - June 25, 2010) The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Watertown concluded a six month investigation with the arrest of 32-year-old Joseph M. Bowman of 600 William St., Apartment E2 Dexter, NY.
Bowman was arrested on five felony counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child and five felony counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child.
The investigation at this point revealed that Bowman possessed and subsequently shared videos via the internet of males under the age of 10 years old engaged in sexual acts with adult males.
Bowman was remanded to the Jefferson County jail in lieu of $40,000 cash bail.
This investigation was a joint investigation conducted by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the New York State Police Internet Crimes Against Children, and the Troop D Computer Crimes Unit.
