State Police in Watertown arrest inmate with a shank

(Watertown, NY – Feb. 4, 2010) The State Police in Watertown arrested Carmello Felix, 52, an inmate currently housed at the Gouverneur Correctional Facility on one count of first-degree Promoting Prison Contraband and third-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, both Class D felonies.

Felix possessed a sharpened piece of metal known as a “shank” while housed at the Watertown Correctional Facility, Swan Road on Jan. 8, 2010 at about 12:30 PM.

Felix was arraigned on Feb. 4 before Justice James McClusky in town of Watertown Court and remanded back to the custody of New York State Correctional Services pending Grand Jury action.
